Are there any hidden costs?
The price we quote is the price you pay, there are no hidden costs.

How can I pay for my booking?
There is no need to make any payments in advance. The rental price and the excess fee can be paid in cash upon arrival.
​
What is an ‘excess fee’?
If a hire car is damaged or stolen, there’s a limit to how much you will have to pay to repair or replace it. ‘Excess’ is simply the name for that limit. The car’s insurance will pay the rest of the cost. The whole amount of the excess fee will be reimbursed if you return the vehicle in the same condition as you received it.

If the place where you are staying isn't on the list, please feel free to specify it in the booking request. We will then add the price for pick up/drop off in the quotation.

Do you have a physical office?
No. Our cars are parked at the private parking in the area of Denia. Your car will be delivered to any location within a 10km radius around Denia free of charge, or to any other location at Costa Blanca for additional cost.

Can I drive the vehicle out of Spain?
No - The vehicle is only insured for mainland Spain.
​
What happens if I have to cancel my reservation?
As we do not require any payment in advance, your booking can be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before the start of the rental period.

Can I pick up or return the rented vehicle outside your office hours?
Cool Rentals - Costa Blanca offers a pickup service outside the office hours. To guarantee this service, the customer must make a prepayment and pay additional fee of 40 €. The holder of the booking must notify Cool Rentals - Costa Blanca of their flight number at the time of making the booking or prior to the pickup date.

What happens if my flight is delayed?
There will be somebody to meet you as all flight arrivals are monitored.

What do you need from me when I arrive?
You will be asked for your driving licence, passport, home address and Spanish address. By providing this information in advance will save you time on arrival as we can just check the details.

What do I need to carry with me when I drive?
A copy of the hire contract, your driving licence and passport.

Can I extend my booking once I have picked the vehicle up?
Depending on availability, please notify our office as soon possible and we will do our best to accommodate.

I want to return the rental car ahead of time, will I get some money back?
No, if you want to return the rental car before the agreed time, you will not receive any money back for the days you choose not to have the rental car during the contract period.

Is it OK to smoke in a your cars?
No, all our vehicles are smoke free. Please be aware a fine of 100 euros applies for smoking inside the car.

Rental terms: mileage, fuel and additional services
What is the minimum/maximum age for hire?
The minimum age to appear as authorized driver is 26 years old with a minimum age of driver´s licence of 3 years. There are no restrictions for the maximum age.

Can more than one person drive the car?
Yes, additional driver costs 5 € per day. The details about the additional driver should be given at the time of hire.

What is the fuel policy of Cool Rentals - Costa Blanca?
The vehicle will be delivered with a full tank, and you return the car with a full tank. If the the car is NOT returned with a full tank, a service charge of
100 € will apply and additional costs to fill up the tank.

What if I put the wrong fuel?
Please bear in mind that all our cars run on petrol fuel/unleaded (not diesel)! If you accidentally put the wrong type of fuel, please notify us about this immediately. Do not continue to drive the vehicle.

Can I hire a GPS Satellite Navigation System?
Yes, you can reserve our GPS navigation system for only 5 € per day + 100 € deposit.
Car specific information
How many seats do your cars have?
All of our cars are roadsters, which means convertibles with 2 seats.

What about the trunk size?
Despite being a roadster, Mazda MX5/Miatas are relatively practical cars. The approximate boot dimensions are 1200 x 600 x 300mm (48″x23″x11″) and can take one larger or two cabin bags (preferably softside), along with some space for more smaller soft bags in the corners.
These two cabin flight cases can be fitted in the boot (truck) along with soft bags. A shelf behind the seats can be used for coats and soft bags.

Are there any additional options if I arrive with more luggage?
Our MX5/Miata 2nd Generation is equipped with a luggage rack, which allows transportation of one additional big travel bag. Please inform us in advance if you like to use this luggage rack.
Still, if you are arriving with even more luggage, or you would like to rent the MX5/Miata 3rd Generation, we would suggest you to consider getting a transfer to your hotel. We will then deliver the car directly there.

Which MX-5 generation is best suited for "tall" people?
If your height is above 185 cm (6'1") we would suggest to go for the 3rd Generation.

Hats, clothing and sunglasses
As you know, the sun in this part of Spain is strong, especially in the summer time, so for comfortable touring with the roof down, it is advised to wear a hat. Either a baseball cap or a brimmed type that will keep more sun off will do. Wind turbulence is low behind the windscreen and only a large brimmed hat would need a chin tie-down. Sunglasses are also recommended and a good sun-block cream for exposed arms and ears!

Any hints on driving the MX-5?
The MX5/Miata has a perfect balance, 50/50 weight distribution, engine that likes high revs and is a very capable car in the corners.
Due to abovementioned technical specifications you should pay attention to the following aspects:
- It is a very “connected” car and you know exactly what it is doing at any given time. You will soon get a feeling that there is no speed which is too high to get the car through a corner. But, we cannot run away from the physics, therefore be careful, especially on the wet roads.
- The engines of these cars love to rev, they are coming alive after 3500RPM. Nevertheless, when the car hasn`t been driven for a couple of hours or more, we would like to ask you to drive smoothly and not to exceed 3000RPM for at least 5 minutes after start. This is neccessary time for the engine to get to the optimal working temperature. Then the fun can start.
